Cacao Circle
▼FAQ
What is Cacao?

What Does “Sober Event” Mean?
You should not consume dairy with Cacao. So you should avoid using dairy for 12 hours before the event.
Sober means: free from mind-altering substances. This includes the use of alcohol, recreational drugs, ketamine, cannabis, mushrooms, and other non-prescribed medicines for 12-24 hours.
Please don’t hit your Penjamin in the parking lot on the way to the event. In all seriousness, cannabis is a plant medicine. But no one needs to consume it all day, every day. It is fine to sit with us in a sober manner, and go home and smoke if you need to.
But when you take plant medicines, they affect your energy. And your energy affects the facilitators and everyone else in the circle.
People who are taking prescribed medications under doctor’s supervision are welcomed to continue taking regular prescriptions and to sit in this sober circle. If you have any questions about how Cacao might interact with any of your prescribed medicines, feel free to ask your doctor or pharmacist before sitting with us.

When you sit in ceremony with us, you get an opportunity to experience the small, ceremonial batches of cacao that Four Wind processes and hand pours. Each cup is filled with prayer, ceremony, and intention.
This is a sober healing space. Thank you for being a part of our circle.

Guided Sound Bath Experience
▼ FAQ
What is a Sound Bath? What is Sound Healing?
No water or bathing suit required!
A Sound Bath is a relaxing, meditative experience that literally bathes your entire being in the healing vibrations of sound.
As you lay on a comfortable mat in our studio, you will feel the vibrations echoing off of the walls and all over your body.
Sound baths help to regulate your nervous system.
Our bodies are made up of mostly water, and the Singing Bowls and the various instruments used during the Sound Bath experience interact with the water inside your body. This helps to harmonize and heal you on a deep level.
All of our Ancestors were Animists who practiced traditional healing through sound. Music, songs, drums, and instruments all have the power to heal you.
What Methods or Instruments Do You Use?
We guide you into the meditative journey with the spoken word to lead you into a space of relaxation.
We use medicine songs, storytelling, chimes, rattles, drums, crystal singing bowls and other instruments to create a truly immersive experience. Our goal is to facilitate a space of healing and remembering.
I’ve Seen Metal Bowls, Colored Bowls, and White Bowls. What’s the Difference?
Metal bowls are often Tibetan/Himalayan Bowls. We do not use those during the sound bath experience, as the sounds are loud and hard.
Typically, colored bowls and white bowls are both Crystal Sound bowls. These are magnificent, resonant instruments. They give soft and soothing tones.
We have a total of 8 bowls in 7 different notes that all correspond with the human biofield or “chakra” system.
Do I Need Any Prior Experience?
No.
You don’t need to know about breathwork, meditation, yoga or anything else to enjoy this experience.
This is simply a healing space for you to relax and experience the magic of sound therapy.
Do I Need to Know How to Meditate?
No. We will guide you through relaxation or breathing exercises to help you get the most out of the experience.
It’s ok if your mind wanders, or if thoughts or feelings come up. There is no expectation, and there is no wrong way to participate.
What Should I Expect?
BEFORE THE BATH: Join us in the Integration Room. Step inside our huge Himalayan Sound bowl and tune your biofield with the vibrations of weighted tuning forks, and the enormous copper bowl.
Then, participants will lie on comfortable mats in our Healing Studio. We have pillows and blankets available. But you are welcomed to bring your own.
We will begin with a relaxation or meditation exercise.
All of our Sound Baths are played intuitively by our facilitators. Meaning: We are moved by the Spirit and our intuition to speak, sing, and play the instruments in a soothing meditative manner.
You may experience guided meditation, storytelling, periods of silence, or periods where the instruments feel dissonant. Everything that happens during the sound bath is part of the healing experience.
After the sound bath, we will leave you in the Healing Studio in silence, and when you are ready you can rejoin us in the Integration Room.
What Might Come Up for Me?
Sound Healing engages your “Rest and Digest” parasympathetic nervous system.
In other words, it makes you feel deeply relaxed.
In this space of relaxation, thoughts, pictures, colors, feelings, emotions, and memories might surface.
We are creating a safe container of space for you to heal and experience relaxation.
In this space, it’s normal for people to fall asleep, cry, deep breathe, and feel new awareness in their bodies. You may also process emotions or memories in this space. These are all normal and healthy “side-effects” of sound healing.
Pay attention to your breathing, as this will help you focus and recenter yourself.
If you become overwhelmed, feel free to step outside of the sound Healing Studio. Out of respect for the participants, please remain in the Integration Room for the duration of the sound bath.
If you are dealing with PTSD, or you are worried about disturbing memories resurfacing, you may want to avoid public events and seek private sessions with us. Or work with a mental health professional until you feel ready to join us.
How Will I Feel After the Experience?
Many people feel relaxed, sleepy, or inspired. We hold a space for talking and integration after the sound healing portion of the experience.
If you feel the need to talk with the facilitators, or share your experience with the group, you are welcomed and encouraged.
Some people also feel the need to journal to work through their experience. This can help you if you are healing deep memories and emotions. It can also help you integrate the spiritual messages and wisdom that surfaces for you.
Can I Bring Additional Substances?
Please do not bring mushrooms, or other illicit substances to a public healing event.
Plant Medicines should be deeply respected, and should not be taken recreationally or in public.
Sound and guided therapeutic experiences can be a powerful way to sit with plant medicines, and to open your mind. We are always happy to talk about these things privately.
What’s Included?
Our healing studio includes a pillow and comfortable mattress with each sound healing experience.
Most other local practitioners only have yoga mats, or they make you bring your own comfort items.
We have invested in making this experience beautiful, and comfortable.
Do I Have to Lie Down?
You are the King of your own body! We have comfortable mats, pillows, and blankets. And additional bolsters are provided upon request.
That being said, if you are more comfortable sitting up, you are welcomed to do what’s best for your body.
We simply ask that you are respectful to the other participants. Please stay on your own mat, and maintain awareness of your own energetic space.
What Should I Wear or Bring?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing and consider bringing a waterbottle with a lid.
Some people like to bring a journal and something to write with.
Please silence all phones and/or apple/smart watches during this experience.
Is There Any Research on this?
Yes, and we recommend that you check it out!

How Did You Get Into Sound Healing?
We have been singing intuitively to the bees, trees, and spiritual beings since childhood. Our facilitators are neurodivergent, and have no formal musical training. Instead we play intuitively, the way our Ancestors would have.
We use medicine songs in our sound baths. These are special melodies that have been taught to us by the land, the wind, the Ancestors, and our guides.
Sitting with us is an experience unlike anything else. And we are happy and proud to facilitate a space for sound medicine and healing.
We believe that the Earth and all her people need a lot of healing. And we also believe that gathering in a group for healing, ceremony, and music is as old as human kind. We are on a mission to bring humanity back to their Animist roots by sharing our songs and talents.

A Look Into Our Sound Baths

Wisdom Circle
FAQ
What is a Wisdom Circle?
A Wisdom Circle is a space where everyone is welcomed to sit and learn in a group.
We call it a circle, and not a “class” or “workshop” because when we sit in a circle there are no leaders. There is no hierarchy. Everyone has a chance to speak, to ask questions, and to share their wisdom.
One of the main principles of Shamanic Healing is that everyone has a Medicine to share. Your medicine is in your stories, questions, responses, and reflections. And there is no greater Medicine than sharing and receiving wisdom in a group.
We cultivate this healing space and offer dream interpretation, and guidance on integration from energy work, ceremony, and plant medicine.
Why Do You Hold These Circles?
Most of the local spiritual community is built on aesthetics, how you look, and what plant medicines you are sitting with regularly.
There is little space in our community for down-to-earth communication and integration.
And there is so much healing to be had in integration, sharing stories, and being with like-minded, grounded people.
We hold our Wisdom Circles as a space for the community to integrate their spiritual experiences like dreams, ceremonies, and meditation experiences. We also hold circles on certain topics of spiritual interest.
Instead of teaching, we hold space for questions, conversation, and discovery.
We have no agenda other than to provide real shamanic medicine, and healing in a sober space.
Are BIPOC People and Minorities Centered in Your Circles?
Four Wind is co-owned by a Non-Binary person, and a Two-Spirit Indigenous person.
We value BIPOC, (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color,) in our spaces. We also are a welcoming space for queer folks and other minorities.
This space is also for White folks to come as allies, and as valued wisdom keepers.
We all have a medicine to share. But at Four Wind, we are prioritizing the Decolonization journey especially in Spiritual Spaces.
The only way to truly decolonize is to hold space for Indigenous people, and other Minorities to speak and share wisdom.
In MANY spiritual spaces BIPOC people don’t feel safe to even show up, let alone share.
While there is no such thing as a truly “safe space,” we pride ourselvses on being able to bring people together to share their perspectives.
If you are a Majority person, come and learn with us.
This is a space for ALL of us to heal, grow, share, and learn. Especially if you are ready to deepen your Spiritual path in a grounded, decolonized space.
Decolonization Resources:

We are not a “love and light” bunch of people. So not EVERYONE is welcomed here.
What does “Sober Healing Space” mean?
Please do not consume alcohol or cannabis 12-24 hours before the event.
Please do not bring mushrooms, ketamine, DMT, or other psychedelic medicines, and make sure they are out of your system before joining us.
We have MANY people who show up and share their healing sobriety journey with us. Be respectful of them, and of us as facilitators.
People who are on prescription medicines, managed by a doctor, are welcomed and encouraged to continue taking their medicines. Prescription Medication can be a powerful tool for balance and healing in your life, and if that is your journey we are proud of you.
Do I Have to Speak?
Everyone is encouraged to share their preferred name and introduce themselves.
But you can share as much or as little as you like. And if you have nothing at all to share you can always pass, and continue listening to the wisdom of the group.
Do I Need Experience in the Topic to Join the Circle?
No. All perspectives and paths are welcomed. That means the wisdom of a beginner is just as valued in our space as the wisdom of a seasoned practitioner.
